got a rare dawn patrol session in at Kookmus this a.m. during low tide. reminded me of the ole early session windsurfing days out there..so flat with some nice (little) waves in the usual spots. out of there before the guards showed up. cranking then on my 9M...up to 30-40 now...guess it was a good thing i left when i did.
hey Brian, i sent you a PM...if you haven't noticed it.

Almost afraid to post for fear of being outed as the kook that I am, especially after that launch yesterday. Really nice kiting last two evenings, first in A5K then following evening in BB, both times with all the local pros on site, even if only briefly. JK did you talk with that nice deaf guy from VT? Peter, are you ever taking your back foot out of straps while wave riding? Anyone else have experience with half strapless mode? I kind of like it but have been through the splits now more than once. Great for upwind tacking and always tempted for the bottom turn but seems shaky. Holly Ben Aaron and Tim, nice seeing you on your way downwind.

little bit of miscommunication and misdirection from the wind landed the launcher in the water but the kiter nicely powered
Seems like the forums are all about kookiness these days, it never ends.
Nice to have the wind back on the Cape however.

Robert nice riding with you also..your riding has improved immensely since last fall..cranking turns on the waves and big air...nice!! yes i keep both feet in on the wave..sometimes one foot out for heading upwind, but back foot all the way back gives most snappy top turns and ability to push the tail into a slide when desired.
still not ready for strapless as like to combine air with wave riding especially in on shore slop and not ready to do that strapless. i like the extra torque on the board that straps give, but will have to try strapless soon especially on the fish. have been trying to ride a few waves unhooked with is interesting as body position is not so controlled by the kite when unhooked, but a bit tough in on shore winds..can see it working better in sideshore.
My launch went bad yesterday also.. Kontagious Kookiness..in an effort not to have my kite close to being over my neighbours kids I flew it into the bushes..and rehot launched into the rocks ...woops...my slightly obese neighbour who spends his entire summer puffing a cigar at beach had just asked me for a good show..guess i had to oblige, but that wasn't the plan. I had just finished telling him about how gusty the wind was on the inside before crashing ...duuhhh

JK did you talk with that nice deaf guy from VT?
yeah, he seemed to be having a hard time of it that day, and was overpowered on his 12m. he said (rather, he typed on his ipad for conversation) he was just learning and not that used to those conditions coming from VT. real nice guy...if all new kiters were like him, the concept of 'kooks' would be much less ominous.

Robert, I ve ridden one strap. Not bad for gtting comfortable moving around the board but it still gets in the way. Keep it WAY loose so you don't destroy yer knee. Id just get rid of em and ride using the whole board. My $.02 Almost afraid to post for fear of being outed as the kook that I am, especially after that launch yesterday. Ted, you got a better chance of seeing a Great White shark in the pond at WD than of seeing jimmyc on the water.

Tim, how was BB? Got out of work too early and couldnt par at BB. WB was pretty good but trailed off at end of day, usual suspects kiting with Marshal and Blake.
Tried short lines and otherwise kept everything the same on my 9.5 kahoona and small stretch board. Found that turning kite was a little faster, but jumps were significantly lower. Kite power with kite parked seem about the same.

The Buzzard was stellar, 9m Trix and the Stretch for 3hrs, all the usual's in the mix, Pete trying lots of stuff, he was mostly on his 8 religion, also on Junior's gear, cramping tonight, need to hydrate more.

Triage at WD. First I take the skin off one of my knuckles, badly. As a gesture to whitey I bled out until a little first was applied from Leo the nurse. For a finale I managed an errant kite loop on my 10m; as I was coming down the Kite was goin up, whabam, kite bar end gets planted firmly in my face, bleeding and a bit freaked I get an assist from a very talented sweety named Loren. Anyhoo, yup, a complete day even with a nice shiner and lacerations.
